This car is like new but customized and really fun todrive.
While the owner and I describe the car below you might enjoy what othershave said about the car. Two brothers who saw the car outside the owner's home told him aweek ago that that one of them would have bought this car if they had known itwas going to be sold, but instead they just each bought new Corvettes.
One person who knows Corvettes looked at the car closelyand then said to the owner, “There is a lot going on.”
On a recent drive on a country road, a policeman by a roadrepair crew gave me two thumbs up.
Others have gathered around the car and said they have readabout this kind of paint job but never seen one.
You first notice, the fenders are flared and the paintseems to change color as the sun moves.
The paint is a custom color and mix. It took several months of testing to come tothis color. The paint goes from a candyred to a black cherry to a super bright copper orange. It is really eye-catching when the lightchanges on it.
The body was enhanced with the molding onto the body of a $15,000Prior Design of North America Wide Body Kit designed for C7’s. The 8 month, 800 plus hour custom-build andpaint was done by Explicit Airbrush of Southington, CT.
This car has been entered in one show: the 2016 Dream Ridefor Special Olympics in Farmington, CT and it took first place out of 500 plus carsin the 2005 and newer category.
The owner loves projects and is very involved in getting allthe details right. He ordered thisStingray new and took delivery the last week of March, 2014. He knew he wanted to customize the car. After studying all the options over aperiod of months, he selected the PDR700 Widebody Aerodynamic-Kit from PRIORDesign, North America based in Pompano Beach, FL.
From the PRIOR site:“The kit fits all C7 Vettes…….. This product is made from high qualityFRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic). The material is a unique blend of epoxy andflex resin that gives excellent strength, flexibility and light weight. Allof our parts are designed and developed in Germany to the highest qualitystandards. Fit and finish is excellent.”The kit consists of PDR700 Front Bumper including Add-On spoilerand Cupwings, Rear Diffuser, SideSkirts, 2 Front Fenders, Rear Widenings. Owner paid $15,000 for the kit.
When the Kit arrived in 2015, the owner decided withExplicit Airbrush to have a complete tear down of the car. There are more photos of the build onExplicit Airbrush’s Facebook page. ExplicitAirbrush did the body work, paint work and everything that went back on thecar. Some kits are bolted on. In this build, the parts were formed ontothe car. Nothing was reused, all brandnew rubber seals are on the car. Thekit makes car 4” wider in back, 2” wider in front, 2” longer overall.
The car has been always garaged and covered in a heatedspace. It has never been in snow, andhas been in rain only twice when the weather shifted.
The wheels and tires are original.
The interior is as though in 100% new condition. Car has been detailed, including the extrastep of removing the seats. The car hasleather and suede seats.
The car has the removable hardtop and the LT2 package. The 55 year old owner has enjoyed this “project” and now heis selling and will start a new project which has yet to be defined. He has been the driver of this car and ithas been very well taken care of.
Warranty: When new in the lastweek of March, 2014, this car came with the manufacturer's warranty of3 yr/36,000 mi basic, 5yr/100,000 mi powertrain. This car has 17 months/94,000 miles (whichever comes first) milesremaining on the drivetrain warranty. On the 2016 and 2017Corvettes the manufacturer's warranty was reduced by 40,000 miles on the drivetrainto3 yr/36,000 mi basic, 5 yr/60,000 mi powertrain.
The car is located in Central Connecticut, 2 hours fromBoston and from New York City. Ifinterested in buying, we can show the car to fit your schedule.
