1987 Buick Regal Turbo-T WE4, Astro Roof – 89,000Miles

History of the WE4:
On Nov. 15, 1986, Buick issued a bulletin to alldealers stating it would begin production on Dec. 8, 1986, of a limited numberof factory “lightweight” Regals, marketing the option as the Regal WE4 Turbo‘T’ Package. (This also may be referred to in some literature as the Regal“Special Turbo ‘T’ Package.”) Buick wanted to promote Regals with the WE4 Turbo‘T’ option as being similar in appearance to the Grand National, minus the rearspoiler. All Special Turbo ‘T’ Package Regals would be identical with ablacked-out exterior, all-gray interior trim package, special exterior badgingthat included a red ‘T’ on the front fenders, aluminum wheels, aluminum bumpersupports and aluminum rear brake drums as opposed to the Grand National’scast-steel drums. All of this would make the Regal WE4 Turbo ‘T’ lighter andhence, faster than a Grand National, and for a lower price.
This new WE4 Regal lightweight would still be rated at the conservative 245hp with 355 lbs.-ft. of torque, but its weight reduction would allow it toaverage in the mid-to-high 13-second range in the quarter-mile. Buick produceda limited run of 1,547 lightweight Regal WE4 Turbo ‘T’ cars while some 20,194buyers opted for a Grand National in its final-year run.
If you want a car that looks like a Grand National that is more rare than aGrand National and you don\'t mind trying to explain to people what the car isthen get a WE4.
I have owned this car since 2004. Has always been garaged and covered. Neverdriven in rain or snow.
Car:
1987 WE4 with 89,000 original miles. Has the VERY RARE, factory Astro Powermoon roof. Factory installed spoiler.
Engine:
Engine is a brand-new factory rebuild with an existing warranty for 2 years.Here is an excerpt directly from the Engine MFG Website. Engine hasapproximately 50 miles on it plus break in run time.
- Engine blocks are magnafluxed, cylinders bored and precision honed, and main saddles line honed to exacting OE specifications
- Camshaft bearing line bored for accurate center to center clearance
- Engine blocks and cylinder heads precision surfaced to ensure proper sealing
- Cylinder heads magnafluxed or dye checked and machined for three angle valve seats
- Crankshafts are stress relieved, precision ground, and micro polished for optimum durability and surface finish
- Camshafts precision ground or replaced with new to maintain the OE profile
- Each engine is tested for compression, oil pressure, oil leaks, unusual engine noise, and general operation condition before shipment
- Engines ship with a finishing gasket set (oil pan, valve cover, intake etc.)
- SIM Tested for Compression, Leaks, Noises & Oil Pressure
- ISO 14000 & ISO 9001 Quality Control
Engine runs smooth and strong with no issues. Additionally, when the newmotor was put in, the intake and exhaust manifolds were cleaned, glass beadedand painted as well as all bracketry and bolts for the entire engine bay. Newalternator, Water pump, Battery, Belt, All intake hoses and clamps, Plugs andPlug Wires are all brand new.

Interior:
Interior is stock gray. Seats are all in perfect shape with very little wearif any, No rips, tears, stains or anything of the like. Sale of the vehiclecomes with a brand-new gray carpet for the interior. As you can see, there isnothing wrong with the original carpet
Body / Exterior / Paint:
Overall the paint is 7 out of 10. It is showable quality in the respect thatyou can bring it to a show and it looks great. There are minor blemishes allaround such as clear coat showing fading on the rear quarters. Has your typicalrock chips etc. that would be expected on a 30 year old car. The paint has beentouched up in various areas over the years. The front and rear bumpers arefreshly painted, the front and rear bumper fillers are Spool Fool (Best qualityand fit on the market ($700)) And are also freshly painted. The passenger doorwas damaged so it has been replaced with a new door, fresh paint, new windowmotor and new window sweeps. Please look at the video of the walk around whichspeaks for itself.
Rims / Tires / Brakes:
Rims are 16” Weld rims. The car will also come with a full set of factoryrims WITH Center caps. Tires on the factory rims are not the greatest. Frontbrakes are stock with drilled and slotted rotors. Plenty of life left. Rearbrakes are aluminum drums.
Rear End / Drive Trane
This car used to have a more powerful engine in it so from the transmissionback it is built. 3” Chromoly Driveshaft with 1350 U-Joints, Yolk and Inputshaft. Rear has a girdle, Auburn Posi, 31 spline moser axles, C-Clip eliminators,and extended wheel studs with 3.42 gears.
Suspension:
Stock front suspension. Rear has air bags in both shocks with fill ports onthe underside of the rear bumper. Rear has adjustable upper control arms,extended lowers, and HR Parts N Stuff anti Roll bar.
Gauges:
All Sport Comp: Boost (35 lb), Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Tachometer, FuelPressure (Kenne Bell). Scanmaster 2.1.
Non Functioning Items:
Interior light, Power Antenna, electric trunk release, Power Locks. AC isinstalled but needs to be charged and gone through.
