This no reserve auction is for a 1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible with 82420 original miles. It is not the original paint but still shines up. From years in storage, it has some rusty blisters on the hood and deck which I attempted to show in pictures.
It is currently not running because it was last started in 1991 and I don\'t want to take any chances of doing enginedamage without properly prepping. The original engine is complete and the car drove to its current storage garage 27 years ago and the key has never been turned since. Gas line was disconnected to let fuel run back to the tank and battery is depleted. The exhaust system appears to be rusted out on the resonators and mufflers.
Upholstery is original and has burn in along the topsetbacks and some damage as pictured. Trunk carpeting was removed and unrepairable. Door panels are in great shape. All doors open easy, and 3 of the 4 window motors operate. One motor does not appear to work and one rear window switch doesn\'t reverse the functioning window so it is currently in it\'s mid position. Wing windows work fine as does the 6 position seat.
Top was replaced when it was painted in 1978 and daily driving ceased at that time. I know the entire history of the vehicle. The car has been in our family since 1968 but due to an estate probate issue, was left in a field for 2 years until I recovered it and secured indoor storage in 1977. There is some rust damage to rearpassenger door, blistering and rusty stains inside deck lid.
While awaiting a storage transfer, a school bus backed up and bent the rear left fender at the taillight and broke the taillight housing. Damage isdocumented in the pictures but this auction WILL INCLUDE a replacement fender skin, tail light assembly (pitting on the chrome), and a straight stainless top trim to aid in the repair.
Chrome and stainless exterior trim is in great shape. Slight pitting on interior chrome trim pieces. Bumpers are straight but rear bumperguards have rust through on passenger side.
There is a clean title.
Ask all the questions you wish. This vehicle will need restoration but it is very pleasing to look at in it\'s current condition From standing 10 feet away with my camera, I was constantly reminded of what a beautiful car this still is.My goal was to one day restore the entire car, but my interests have shifted elsewhere and my wish is to have a buyer who sees the value of this project and puts it back on the road or in a showroom.
$500 non refundable deposit due viaPayPalwithin 48hrs and remaining balance paid either in cash, or cashiers check. No attempts to start the engine can be made on premises and car must be picked up or shipping arranged within 30 days. Buyer is responsible for all shipping or pick up costs. I am located approximately 20 miles from Portland, Oregon.Serious bidders please!
