1965 Ford Galaxie 500. 289 V8, Auto., PS, 4 wheel drum brakes.Odometer shows 68,720 and I believe that to be actual mileage. The car was last licensed in 1974 and has been garaged ever since. The car belonged to my grandfather but I doubt he was the original owner. About 10 years ago, I started a minor restoration just to get the car running. The following work was done at that time: New radiator, New water pump, new master cylinder, all brake wheel cylinders were rebuilt, new brake shoes and brake springs, new shocks front and rear, plugs, points, condenser, rotor, belts, hoses, timing chain. The gas tank was taken off and cleaned but needs to be installed. I am running it off a jug. I have a new stainless sending unit for the gas tank. I would rate the chrome at 90 to 95% condition. The dash and headliner are in really good condition for the age. The carpet is trashed. It needs replaced. The seats are worn but in very good condition for the age. Only a couple minor tears.Lights, wipers, heater blower, horn all work. Horn is broken in one small spot and needs tack welded.Engine runs very well but could probably use the carb. rebuilt. The exhaust needs replaced. starter was hanging up but appears ok now. Underneath seems pretty good as far as floor pans and under trunk. Frame has a couple places that may or may not need fixed depending on what you want. Transmission fluid, filter, modulator valve have been changed but pan gasket seeps. Body is overall in very good condition. Just some minor work and paint. As is, all the car really needs is the gas tank installed and exhaust to be able to drive on the road.
