You arelooking at a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable. This car is a truebarn find that had been stored inside for over 30 years! The car runs good andmoves but there are no brakes from sitting so long. The top actually works andhere is a link to some videos of it going up and down! Having a top that works is a huge bonus!!!!!
This car isa 292 2v motor with an automatic transmission, it does run good but I amrunning it off a gas can under the hood. I didn’t try running it off the tank Ifigured it was probably rusty inside the tank and would plug the filter. Iinstalled a new water pump on it the original one was leaking. The tranny alsoworks but it does leak. It has Power Steering & Power Brakes. There are some electrical issues but I didn\'t look into repairing them, I know the headlights don\'t work.
The car isa very solid car, there is no rust in the trunk area, all the body panels arein very good shape. The front floors have a little rust as you can see in thepictures but this would be a pretty easy repair. The underside of this car is very solid. The frame has no rust holes, all the floors look good other than the front floor pans have some rust, all the body mounts are good, even the inner rockers are good with no rust holes! For a 60 year old car I wouldconsider this to be in very good condition. All the glass is good, all thetires hold air. It is 99% complete. The only thing I can think of that ismissing is the carpet which I removed to see how the floors looked.
This is avery cool car that would be a great one to restore or fix a few things on itand drive it as is!

A $500 nonrefundable deposit thru PayPal is due with 24 hours of the auctions end and therest is due within 7 days. I would prefer cash at the time of pickup but a wiretransfer is fine also. I will accept a cashiers check but the car doesn’t leaveuntil it has cleared the bank.
I wouldlike the car picked up with 14 days but I understand working with truckingcompanies sometimes takes longer. The car will be kept inside until it ispicked up.
