Madefrom pure 304 seriesnon magnetic stainless steel. They are polished to beautiful luster, not as you may find with chrome tips but along the lines of what you will find with moststainless products. As you may have noticed on any polished stainless products, they are never finished out to a mirror finish, but closer to a semi polished finish.We think this is the way it should be on any stainless products. It would be fair to say these tips are semi polished rather than mirror finished. The color tone from stainless is unique only to stainless and wins hands down in appearance compared to chrome plating.The benefits of stainless over chromed steel is that they will never rust or tarnish, and they certainly look better in spite of the fact they don't have the typical bright mirror finish on them. Wall thickness isvery strong atapproximately.050 thous.These are verywell made and durable againstdamage fromrocks, debris and will resist crushing or flatteningfor those withlow ground clearance.Our price will be the best on the market. We have noticed that some exhaust tips on the market are of the clamp on variety. We would not even consider selling these type tips. It is our very strong opinion that havingthe tipwelded to your existing tail pipe eliminates the worry of having the tip come loose and fall off or simply loosening up and becoming out of alignment. Should you have an exhaust system that shows where the pipe connects to the tip, you must agree that those with clampshave a somewhat tacky appearance.Most all pickup and suv's show the complete tip at variousangles.Muffler shopscan weld an exhaust tip on with great ease, and for very little cost. Welded tips will never loosen or shift position. The weld bead they usually created when installing the tip or tips as it may be, are often done with great precision. We know that the clamp on tips are convenient, buthaveto many drawbacks in our opinion. If your exhaust pipe is same size as the tip's inlet diameter, that's not a problem, these tips can easily be expanded by the muffler shops pipe dilator. They will expand,up to approximately 1/4 inch to accomodate your existing tail pipe. Worse comes to worse, and the 1/4 inch still does not allow the tip end to fit over your tail pipe then most muffler shops can butt the two pieces together and join them. If your beyond the size limit for joining the two pipes together due to a very large size difference, then many of the muffler shops have reducer joints or sometimes called step-down sections that will allow the use of a very large tip inlet to join up witha much smaller tail pipe. Stainless tips are much more sensitive to expansion and contraction as the tip becomes hot. As the stainless tip becomes hot, it will expand at amuch greater rate than the steeltail pipe. Thisexpansion imbalance between the two can cause a clamped on type tip tobecome loose. This is reason enough to stay away from the tacky clamp on style tips. You may notice an unsightlyresidue on your exhaust tip, this is a form of polishing rouge left on during the manufacturing process and can easily be cleaned off with a damp cloth. We were alarmed to see this upon fist observation, and didnotice that cleanup took a mere few seconds.
