These valves are high temp non magnetic stainless. The difference between non magnetic and magnetic stainless is the valves ability to withstand heat. Non mag. stainless can handle extreme temperatures. The magnetic stainless valves have very little nickel in them, and can not withstand the high temp. ranges most engines encounter when running hard. We know for a fact that many of the valves on the market claiming to be stainless, fail to mention if they are non magnetic. These only have approx. 3% nickel in them vs. approx. 13%. The cost difference is considerable. We never use the low temp valves, and never will.
These valves are swirl finished, undercut style, and have a very well designed lock groove. As with all of our valve train components, they must meat our specs or we will not sell them. When comparing prices be sure to know if the valves your comparing these to are non magnetic. Low temp valves will fail with ease under the right conditions. High temp valves are not just for those running to extremes, they are essential for all carbureted engines. Should your engine lean out for any reason, the combustion temperatures can rise in an instant. Carbs. that are not working as they should, and all carbs have there moments can cause a lean condition and you will most likely not know this is happening. Running out of fuel or a fuel pump failure under full load is more than enough to cause a lean condition that can cause serious damage to your engine. The valves must be high temp to withstand this. Our valves also have a concaved face, reducing weight. We have used these valves in at least 200 sets of heads, and have zero failures of any kind. Seldom will you see this low of a failure rate. The author of this add does not claim to be an expert on valves, but we certainly do have and expert on valves in our machine shop. Our head builder has built heads on every race level imaginable, and has a vast knowledge on valve train hardware. We have used several different valves over the years, and these certainly meet his approval. Our use of them on several hundred sets of heads is also validation for this product.
