Information about this item
WOW! A beautiful set of brand new heavy gauge fender well Made in the USA headers for the (396-502") Rat Motors in a '55-57 passenger car. Large 2" with equal length (34") primary tubes and 3-1/2" diameter 3-bolt collectors. Heavy 3/8" flanges and 18 gauge tubing. Smooth bending in the radius and all Mig welded. If you're crazy enough to put a Rat in your '55-7, this will compliment the engine compartment. Patriot headers come from the old Hooker design team. Here's the deal on these headers. They fit exactly what we list them for. NOTHING ELSE! Not to say they're not a great start for fabricating whatever you want to fabricate. They're made for the big block to be mounted in the "Same Place" and location the small block was. No motor plates or raising or lowering of the engine, the "Same Place". I know it's popular to move the big block forward to give you more distributor and heater box room, but these will not fit when you do that. When you do that, now the header down tubes/ collector are also moved forward and the back of the front tire now has clearance issues. This is a super deal on a quality set of headers. When you buy these headers for anything but the intended use, you're on your own. There's NO RETURNS on these headers. I hate to even mention this but I just had a guy call me from Ohio and he bought these from me (he lied to me and told me he was putting them in his '55 Chebbie. I should have known better when he couldn't pronounce Chevy) for his 1952 Ford with a 460 Ford engine powered gasser and he put these headers on a Ford head flange and said it saved him hundreds of dollars by doing that and it turned out great. Again no returns and you're on your own.
NOTE: These now have the #5 and #7 tubes modified from the factory to give clearance for the #605 power steering boxes and also the aftermarket boxes now being produced for the Tri-Fives. A beautiful set of headers but no longer with out the tubes all one piece like they used to be (and the photos show). ••• International and Canadian customers •••
