FREEZE 12
Thank you for looking at our Freeze 12 a/c kit.
One of the most common questions asked is can Freeze 12 be mixed with R12 or R134a?
There is currently legislation in place that technically makes it illegal to mix refrigerants in this country.
But to answer the question, would a R12 or R134a system work if Freeze 12 was added to it?
YES it would.
However it would not really be legal to do so.
Any refrigerant left in the system “SHOULD” first be recovered.
The system should then be leak tested and any leaks found repaired.
The system drier should be replaced if system moisture or contamination is suspected.
Then, locate the low and high side service ports.
The low side is the larger line and the high-side is the smaller line.
REMOVE THE EXSISTING HIGH & LOW SIDE SCHRADER VALVE stems.
Install the new Freeze 12 adapters and label.
The system should then be placed in a vacuum with a vacuum pump for at least 1 hour.
Then the Freeze 12 products added.
The Stop leak, Oil charge then the regular cans as needed.
It would also help to know how much refrigerant you’re A/C system holds, this maybe found in the engine compartment or in the technical specifications of the owners manual for that vehicle.
Please keep in mind that 16oz. Equals 1 lb. of refrigerant charge.
Normal operating suction pressure should be between, 35 to 45 psi depending on the outside temperature.
Thank you!
