Stage 3 All-Motor
This cam is designed for high compression applications. This generally means high compression all-motor applications that plan on revving pretty high. The higher the compression, the more gains you will see from this cam.
However, we have seen this cam used often in high boost turbo applications as well with great results. If you have a turbo setup and you are looking for a more aggressive lift and duration than the stage 2 turbo cams, these could be an excellent option.

Description
Aftermarket cams increase the efficiency of your head by using higher lift and duration. Any time you increase the lift and duration of a cam, you are putting more stress on the valvesprings and retainers. Factory valvesprings were not made to handle the abuse of higher lift and duration, especially not at the rpm we take our engines to when racing, or even driving enthusiastically. If you are installing upgraded cams, do yourself a favor and install valvesprings and retainers while you're in there.
Your stock valve springs can fail in 3 different ways.
- BIND -
- BREAK -
- FLOAT -
"Valve Float" is a hard to diagnose condition where the valve spring rate is not high enough to fully extend the spring and close the valve after a complete rotation of the cam before the cam comes back around again. So what ends up happening is that when the cam is spinning fast (high rpm) the valve never closes, and combustion leaks out of the engine, and the engine loses power.

Description
Brian Crower stainless steel valves are a good idea when you are building an engine. We have seen multiple racers cut corners by leaving their valvetrain stock, and go to the track after spending thousands of dollars building a race engine with new pistons, rods, bearings, headgasket, cams, etc, miss a shift, over rev, and drop a valve into their newly built engine ruining everything. Usually when a valve fails and falls into the engine, its catastrophic and nothing can be saved.
In the big picture, the valves will be one of the least expensive pieces you could buy when building an engine, dont cut corners on the valvetrain, it could be the difference between losing everything or not.
Please note that going to a larger than stock valve requires machining by an experienced machine shop.
