Our kit increases the preload on the oil pressure spring to change the opening point of the oil bypass.
We recommend switching to the 2004 GM spec of 5w30 oil at the time of installation. We also recommend synthetic motor oil once your engine is broken in. These things should increase the life of your engine especially when increasing it's HP output.
