Here is an original1966-1967 GMMuncie M21close ratio 4 speed transmission. This will fit and is numbers correct for all1966 and 1967GM vehicles. This unit will also fitALL 1963-1974 GM models, (Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Buick) directly with no modifications or other issues. This unitoriginally came out of a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette. This unit is ingood original condition. The input shaft hasone ring. The input spline has 10 teeth and the output spline has 27. The first gear ratio is 2.20, 2nd gear is 1.64, 3rd gear is 1.28 and 4th gear is 1:1. There are no chipped, broken, or damaged gear teeth anywhere. All of the gears are inexcellent shape. When this unit is spun over, it feelsgood with nomajor slop or issues. It also spun over fine in all 4 gears and shiftsgreat with no issues. All of the engagement teethalso look greatwith no major wear. This trans is not dirty or greasy and ispretty clean. It just needs a light cleaning up on the outside to be perfect. The main case is perfect with no cracked or broken ears and no welds or damage. The tail shaft is in excellent shape as well with no cracks or damage. The tail housing does have one extremely small repair right under thetop center shifter mounting bolt on the driver's side of the transmission. You can barely see it and it was an excellent repair. The shifter will cover this area up anyway. It willnot cause any issues. There are no stripped holes or heli-coilsanywhere on this transmission. The main case has a casting number of3885010 and is stampedP0204 (P= Muncie, 0204=February 2nd). The vin stamped into this transmission is6S113545 (see pic #10). According to the vin, thiswas originally out of a 1966 Corvette. The tail shaft has a casting number of 3857584. The side cover has a casting number of 3884685. The front bearing retainer has a casting number of 3851326. This unit is 100% matching numbers fromfront to back! Everything is correct. A new gasket set has recently been installed into this transmission. These original Muncie M21 close very hard to find this correct and complete so don't miss out onthis one at NO RESERVE!!
This transdoesn't appear to need anything; it turns, shifts, and feels real good. I have not personally run this transmissionso I do not know its actualworking condition. I inspect each transmission as thoroughly as possible before offering them here on ebay.I have given the best and most honestdescription of this transmission that I could.
