This is truly a one of a kind vehicle which I deeply regret having to sell! Work is very slow so the toy must go!
This is a1984 Mazda RX7 GSLwith a clean and clear title ¤t tags. This RX7 has been more than heavily modified being that it now runs with a Mustang 5.0 motor! This car runs and drives good and is more than fast for anyone’s taste. I can’t put into words all the fun it is to drive itbut I can say that it cost me countless amounts of money & time to get it were it is today. The paint & body is in fair/good shape for it’s age but it dose have a few minor dents in dings.
I have listed a few things below about the cars specs in addition to anything I could think of it may need in the future. I believe honesty is the only way to do business so I’m doing my very best to get you all the facts.
Motor:
85 block 302
E7 H/O Heads
222/222 512 summit racing cam
Edlebrock 4 barrel 600 cfm carb
Edlebrock Performer aluminum intake manifold
Wild Cat Gear Drive “Noisy sounds like a supercharger”
Procomp Performance distributor with 9mm wires & MSD street fire coil
Transmission:
85 AOD came with motor
2800 High stall converter
Mr. Transmission 5500 rpm high shift kit in governor
Additional Trans Cooler
Cooling:
Summit Racing High Volume Aluminum radiator
Duralast high out put water pump
13” belt driven flex fan
Additional 12” High out put electric fan in front of radiator
Exhaust:
Custom Borla exhaust system with dual 2.25 pipes into a y pipe 2.50
Rear:
3.90 gearswith aposilock setup
Things it could use:
All gauges work but the Speedo so you’d have to rig something up. I just bring along my GPS which reads mph on the screen.
The cooling system is all new and good working but it could use some custom made heat blockers around the radiator to increase cooling ability.
One valve cover was damaged due to a boltbeing over tightened. It now drips a small amount of oil when driven long distances. Will need to replace valve cover. Very easy fix just something I never got around to.
The driveshaft was custom made and balanced but by miscalculation it was made about 1.25 inches too short so at speeds over 80 mph you can feel it vibrating a bit. This too is an easy fix.
The brakes are ready for servicing. The car dose stop and I personally feel safe in it but someone not trained to drive a car of this nature will notice it.
Final notes:
This car was very carefully planed and built by me and at the hands of a good mechanic, all gaskets including heads were replaced at time of swap. All gaskets were also replaced in trans as well. Don’t get me wrong, this car runs & drives very good and from the specs listed im sure you can only imagine how fun this little hot rod is. I’ve never tracked the car but I’ve done a little stop light racing and was never disappointed with the outcome. From the specs and the weight of this car it is safe to assume a good driver could place it into the early 13’s maybe late 12’s.
