For sale is a 2005 Dodge Viper SRT10 Mamba Edition #161/200with 20,734 miles. It sports the blackon silver ACR color scheme with red on black interior and looks great.Cleanhistory and clear, notarized title. Allmaintenance is up to date and all of the mechanical “Achilles heals” of thismodel have been addressed: The car can corner in excess of 1.00g and somehave experienced oil starvation during sustained, high-speed cornering, even onstreet tires (although the 2005 models received updated main bearings that weresuperior to the 2003-04 models). Dodgefixed the problem in the 2008-on cars by redesigning the oil pan and adding anarticulating oil pickup. This car hasthe Viper Specialty Performance $2,000 race swing arm and pickup kitinstalled that is essentially the aforementioned factory parts machined to fiton the earlier cars. It also adds anadditional quart of oil for a total of 11 quarts. Window regulators commonly fail on thesecars. This car has had both driver andpassenger side window regulators replaced with the updated 2013-on part number 04865610/11AI. In extreme circumstances, the rear toe linksupport can fracture causing a loss of control (the NHTSA conducted a fullinvestigation of this and concluded there was no reason to do a recall). In case this ever were to happen, this carhas the ViperPartsUSA toe link support kit installed. The power steering lines have been known toleak over time. This car has the JTSPerformance lines installed. The oil cooler lines have also been known toleak on these cars due to age. This carhas the Roe Racing lines installed. The original Dynamic Suspension coilover shockseventually leak – not to mention the fact that the ride was less than desirablefrom the factory. To correct this, a setof height and ride adjustable BC coilovers were added with the optional Swiftsprings fitted. This high performance V10 has been known to pulloil vapor in through the PCV system.Over time, oil can coat the intake runners and reduce the octane ratingof the fuel, leading todetonation.This car has a Moroso oil catch can complete with AN fittings and linesthat condenses the oil vapor before it gets into the engine - it works very well. This car is hard on the factory rubber enginemounts which will eventually fail. Thiscar has the Woodhouse polyurethane engine and transmission mounts installed.
