Neiman Marcus Thunderbird for sale. This is a RARE find. The following is directly out of the Thunderbird Chronicle book...
"Thunderbird made its first public appearance at the Detroit Auto Show in January 1999.Though still just a "Concept," the car that wowed showgoers was translated with a few changes into the eventual production version.Though the official unveiling was set for August 2001, the first cars actually went "on sale" nearly a year in advance. In an arrangement with upscale department-store giant Neiman Marcus, a specially trimmed $41,995.00 NM Edition Thunderbird was introduced in August 2000 at the 50th annual Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach, California. Listed in the upscale retailer's "Christmas Book", the car was offered for sale on September 23, 2000 and taken off the market the same day. All 200 of the black and silver cars were snapped up in a phone blitz that lasted just two hours and fifteen minutes...and 22,800 potential buyers who called too late had to be turned away."
This car is not pictured with the silver hard top, but that hard top IS inbeautiful condition and goes with this car. The Thunderbird Chronicle book and the replica toy car go with this auction as well.
I am selling this car for a good friend of mine. He bought this car new in 2005 in Georgia from a retired Ford dealer. This car WAS still on factory MSO at that time. The current title, pictured, shows the date of 2015 becausethat is when Del put special letter lic plates on and added his kids to the title for estate reasons. The retired Ford dealer had been retaining the car in his collection until that time, and my retired friend (pictured) has loved it since. The only reason Del is selling this car is because they are getting older and simplifying their lives. What you see on this car is what you get. There are absolutely no secrets on this car it is in very nice condition inside and out. The tires on this car have very few miles on them and the winning bidder can ship or simply drive this car home.
As you can see in the picture, this car has a soft top, It does come with the boot for when the soft top is down, it does come with the silver factory hard top (which will be put back on by auction end), the auction also includes the toy clone as well as the Thunderbird Chronicle book.
This car is number 220 (as shown by the last 3 of the vin number) of the 200 cars built and sold. It is my understanding that the first few were only concept cars and that is why there are higher numbers then 200 in a car that only had 200 built.

I was just informed by an Ebay member who has a couple of these cars that by looking at the vin number he believes this car would be number 195 of the 200. Thanks for the info!
