Thanks for taking a look at this beautiful Cadillac!
This is a local car sold new at then Betts Cadillac, now Willis Cadillac. It still has the Betts sticker in the lower left corner of the rear window. This car looks fantastic inside and out, and I get compliments on it every time I drive it.
The interior is like new- no cracks in the dash, or the sumptuousemerald green leather interior.
The carpet is thick and plush, and the interior is a time capsule.
It looks better any than I have ever seen, even in lower mileage cars.
The car has 93,000 original miles, I still drive it when I can so that is approximate.
The previous owner (an elderly gentleman) was a collector, as am I. He had owned it for over 20 years, and it was always garaged.
The vinyltop looks like new, no cracks or splits, and it is still soft to the touch, as are the seats.
All the windows, locks, and seats work as they should. I do not know of anything on the car that is non-functional.
The cruise control works splendidly as well.
It runs and drives as good as it looks, I would drive it anywhere without hesitation.
It always starts right up and runs almost silently, as any well kept Cadillac should.
The previous owner had a keyless entry system installed, it works perfectly and several remotes and sets of keys are included.
It even comes with the original Cadillac Gold Keys!
The owners manual is included and pictured.
Moving to exterior- the car is great shape. I think it may have been repainted at some point because the paint shines a little to well to have been 80\'s GM paint. (in my opinion)
The car presents beautifully.
All the chrome is in good shape, and I have found no rust anywhere on the car.
The fillers are in mostly in good shape, I believe the one found under the license plate/fuel filler has a couple of small cracks but it is not visible unless you are standing right above it.
The underbody and engine compartment are near pristine, for a car that actually gets driven.
The V8 engine runs great and benefits from being a 1985model, as GM improved the block casting for 1985 which eliminated the problems found on some of the earlier 4.1\'s.
The tires are matching whitewall Coopers and theyhave nearly full tread.
Of course, it is still a 33 year old car, so it is to be expected, it is not perfect.
Things tobe aware of:
There are a few small rockchips here and there.
The headliner is in great shape with no tears but has begun to sag. The previous owner stuck some push pins in it to keep it up. I planned to have it reglued, but never got to it.
It does not flap and is not noticeable when driving the car.
It has been getting cold here of late, and one day (18 degrees f) I hopped in and started driving it without giving it any time to warm up, and it stalled at the stop sign near my home.
It restarted instantly with no other hiccups. Since then I have always given it a minute or so warm up when it\'s that cold, and it hasn\'t done it again.
I don\'t think there is anything actually wrong with it, just an old car on a cold day- but I\'m a fan of full disclosure.
I welcome any test drives or inspections before bidding, but a bid is a contract to purchase, so pleasehave any due diligence you wish to complete done before bidding.
I am happy to work with any independent inspectors or auto shippers if you wish to have the vehicle shipped to you. It should go without saying of course that any inspections or shipping would be at your own expense.
If you need to fly in to pick it up, I am happy to pick you up at Des Moines International Airport (DSM)
Des Moines is centrally located, both in the State of Iowa, and the United States. West of Chicago, South of Minneapolis, East of Omaha, and North of Kansas City, at the intersection of Interstates 35 and 80.
I am neither a mechanic or car dealer, just a guy who likes old cars. I have a few, and every once in a while I get the urge to change it up a bit a make room for something different.
I have tried my best to make accurate notes on the condition of the car and represent it as clearly as possible, but of course, the car is sold \"as-is, where is\" and all sales are final.
Please message me if you have any questions,I am happy to answer them and good luck in the bidding!
