1979 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ

Clean, all original, unmolested, V8, console, bucket seats, tilt, cruise, cold A/C, excellent driver!

Here we have a hard to find clean and unmolested blast from thepast. This is a 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ with two-tone green factory paint, landau top, and original cloth (velour) interior. It has the original Pontiac301 V8 with 2-bbl Rochester Dual-jet and automatic transmission with factoryfloor/console shifter. Cold A/C and hot heat, cruise control, tilt wheel, andfactory AM/FM radio.

I bought this in thespring from a gentleman in Alabama whose wife used it as a semi-daily driver,so it has been maintained to be safe and reliable. I’m only selling because Ihave my eye on something else and need the garage space and cash. If the car does notsell for the right price, I’m fine keeping it.

Everything works except the rear window defroster, clock and windshield washer (the wipers work fine).

The following has beenrepaired / replaced within the last 2 years (much of the work done aspreventive maintenance):

  • New front springs, shocks, brake pads, tie rods, and upper ball joints
  • Front end alignment
  • New rear brakes (wheel cylinders, shoes, etc.)
  • New (rebuilt) Rochester Dualjet carb from National Carburetor (original carburetor also included if you want it)
  • New fuel line, pump and soft lines
  • New belts & hoses
  • New radiator
  • New heater core
  • New vacuum lines
  • New 15\" BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires
  • Professionally refinished 15\" Pontiac OEM snowflake wheels
  • New spark plugs and plug wires
  • New windshield
  • Gauge surround (to replace the one that was peeling – original will be included)

The car wasundercoated / rust-proofed when new, so either Rusty Jones or Ziebart. As such, the body is in great shape and also has no dents or dings but does have a few stone chips from being driven. There are two rustspots that I can find; one the size of a nickel on the lower right of the trunklid and one slightly larger behind the rear passenger wheel (see pictures ofboth). These are \"bubbles\" and have not come through the paintcompletely but will need to be addressed at some point. There is also the typical surface stuff on the lower doors and I have taken pictures of that too. There is no rust through and it is only on the surface and is a simple repair.

The rear bumper fillers were replaced and painted by the secondowner and the front bumper fillers appear to be original and in good shape. Thelandau vinyl top is in good shape with no rips, tears, or dry rot and cleans upnicely.

The car isoriginally a 14” wire wheel car, and a set of the wire wheel hubcaps areincluded with the sale. I also have the car’s PHS documents and I will includewith them with the sale. I took a photo of the invoice and it\'s included here.

This is probablyone of the most original Grand Prix\'s of this era in this color combo and it looks great with the snowflakes. That said, it is almost a 40-year-old car. It has some imperfections asexpected and may need other maintenance. The car could use new door weatherstripping (driver side) which I will include with the sale.

This car isreliable and comfortable. The A/C is cold, and the heatis hot. When I bought the car, the previous owner said they made a couple of200+ mile trips in it and it performed flawlessly. I have only taken it out on shortdrives to local car shows. It rides and drives great and is a bold 70’s erastatement. People always have something to say every time I show it.

The car has the factory fuelgauge + idiot lights which all work, except the clock. The extra gauge clusterpictured adds a temp, voltage, and oil pressure gauge if the new owner cares toinstall them. I also have another speedo / clock cluster and guage cluster (it came with the speedo/clock cluster) which I will include(although I don’t know if they work, but I was told they did when removed). Ido have the original owner\'s manual for the car along with some other paperworkthat came with the car when bought new.

This car is almost 40 years oldand comes with NO WARRANTY either expressed or implied. The car is registeredin New York and I have a clear title with no liens. I will assist with shippingor in-person pickup of the car at your expense. I can hold the vehicle to giveyou time to arrange for shipping if that\'s your preference. A non-refundable depositof $250 will be required at the end of the auction to hold the vehicle forshipping/pickup. I will accept a PayPal deposit. Cash payment or certified bankcheck for the remaining purchase price of the car

See my 100%positive feedback and bid with confidence. If you have \"0\" or lessthan 95% positive feedback, please do not bid. If you’d like to talk to meabout the car, my name is John and I can be reached at 518-573-2372.

Thank you and happybidding and I’m sure the lucky winner will be thrilled with this blast from thepast!

PLEASE NOTE: This is the last time I will list the car. There have been too many tire kickers who make offers and then disappear. So one last try. Once again, if you are serious, please call. This is my bottom line price. High bid gets it.
