Up for auction we have a very nice example of a 1972 TriumphTR6. Completely rust free and registered with a clean California title, thisTR6 is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
The current owner purchased this car from the previous ownerin the Bay area about 5 years ago. Once acquiring the car, the current ownerhad a new fuel tank installed. Additionally, the interior black carpeting,dashboard cover, and door panels were all replaced with new 2 years ago. Quality paintand body work was completed about 1 year ago in its original and veryattractive Sapphire blue color. The body panels are nice and straight and the exterior chrome trim is excellent all around. The convertible top is new and the sale of thiscar also comes with a new tonneau cover that was custom fitted with all theproper hardware to attach it to the car with the aftermarket roll cage in place. Most recently, new seat beltswith Triumph crested emblems have been mounted to the car.
Mechanically this TR6 is very sound. In the past year thecar has been checked over, tuned, and completely serviced. Including theinstallation of a new alternator, battery cutoff switch, drive belt, fuel pump,fuel filter, oil filter, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, clutch master andslave, clutch kit, rear wheel cylinders, brake master cylinder, front brakepads, front calipers, engine mounts, thermostat, rack mounts, bump stops, andtires. The carburetors and distributor have been rebuilt in the last year, andthe speedometer has been overhauled as well.
From cold this Triumph starts right up with the pull of thechoke and as it warms up the choke can be disengaged allowing the car to settleinto a smooth idle. The 2.5 litre straight 6 engine sounds strong and healthy. The 4 speed manual gearbox is nice and tight without any unwantedvibrations, grinding of gears, or rattling. The suspension feels great and thebrakes are in good working order as well. Electrically, the headlights, taillights, reverse light, indicators (don’t self cancel), push horn, and windshieldwipers all function. The dashboard is in excellent condition and also complete with all functional gauges.
