Last Year Of TheA-body Style…

Clean And Clear Title!

For1972, the top-line intermediate was the Luxury Le Mans, available in hardtopsedan and coupe models, featuring upgraded interiors compared to regular LeMans models.

Pontiachad made some big changes in 1971 so 1972 didn\'t see much in the way ofrestructuring. However, one big addition included a plush Luxury LeMansfeaturing all Morrokide bucket seats in hardtop versions or notchback seats inother body styles.

WHAT IS THE STORY?

This car was originally sold in my home town at a local dealership brand new. It stayed in the townits whole life and eventually the family that bought it new passed it onto theirson to driveto school in the late 80s. My mother remembers her classmate driving it daily. Eventually the car was sold to a junk yard.

We savedthis car from the crusher is 2006, when my parents bought it for my 16thbirthday. When I found this gem it was beat up and tattered. The plan was torebuild this car with my Father but we never got the chance because he passedaway from cancer. I have tried to keep it sheltered most of the time I have had it, and to my knowledge it is only a 2 owner car.

I hate tosee it go, but with a new wife and a budding family I need the cash more thanthe car. I have done the hard work, now all that is left is to put it backtogether and paint it! I will be as open as possible and try to describe thisto the best of my ability.

WHAT ARE THE FEATURES?

Wheel Base: 112 in.

WHAT HAS BEEN DONE?

Afterpulling it out of the junkyard, I took it to get a tune up and body work. Itwas professionally done and there was little to NO bond-o used in therepairs. The car was then stripped down and treated with primer to get ready topaint. Unfortunately, we never got that far… but, it was clear coated toprotect the car and primer until it was ready to paint. That means that it onlyneeds to be sanded down a little to reveal the primer and then painted.

The enginewas grimy, but I got it running and running strong! That is until the starterwent out and I just have not had the time or money to fix it. After the passingof my father I put the whole project on the back burner.

The car hasbeen cleaned out and the interior gutted. I installed a new Pioneer deck forthe radio and wired speakers. The speakers were never really installed, justset in place and more than likely they are now shot.

WHAT IS THERE? AND WHAT IS MISSING?

Thesuspension is all original and the car features drum brakes. However, I do havethe parts for a disk system that I was going to convert it to. It may bemissing a few pieces but the main parts are there. The frame is sound and to myknowledge it has not been in an accident.

When Ibought the car the bucket seats were missing, but I bought a set to use. Theyare not the originals, but they are the same style. So, with new vinyl youwould not know the difference. The rear seat is intact and actually in decentshape all things considered.

All of theother interior pieces are there and intact with the exception of the headlinerand the carpet. I think I have an old headliner for it but I will have todouble check.

I have allof the trim and other badges that came with the car as well as the original1972 license plates! All are in decent shape and probably only need to bepolished. Speaking of trim, the car came from the factory with a vinyl top, unfortunately time ripped it apart before I got to it and I have not bought areplacement.

Thepassenger side window is missing because of a rouge flying rock, but it hasbeen cleaned up. I do however have a replacement windshield and the rest of thewindows are in great shape! All of the old window trim was thrown away as itwas rotten and will need to be replaced.

There arealso a lot of extra parts as I had two of these cars to pick from. For example,a cam shaft, disk brakes, and various other parts. The rest of the car isintact from the bumpers to the motor. The only other thing I know it is missingis a key to the trunk. One of the keys fits, but it will not open it for whateverreason.

There arealso a few pieces of fun documentation that came with this beauty.
