LISTING UPDATED!!!The BUY IT NOW price of $22,500, includes $2500 towards the cost of shipping. I will be shipping another vehicle to Long Beach CA in approx 4 weeks time, which means I am able to pack this car in the same container and get the car to the Long Beach CA Docks for FREE!!!. There will be additional charges at the destination port, however, these will be minimal as everything from here to there is covered.
If your interested in that deal, shoot me a message and we can discuss details and potential deals to get things done quickly. Happy to discuss close offers as I have 3 more hardtops coming in shortly (not for sale) that I need the workshop space for.Shipping to Europe is around US$3500-4000 (depending on location).Mad Max Interceptor project - a REAL Australian Falcon hardtop, just like the original movie car.Dreamt of building your very own Mad Max Interceptor but either didn\'t know where to get one, how to get one or just couldn\'t find one in your budget?Well, hopefully, today is your lucky day. Please note everything listed below is included in the \"buy it now\" price.1972 XA Falcon hardtop (also known as a coupe in Australia) (The XA and XB Falcon Hardtops are essentially the same shells, both externally and internally, either shell can be fitted with panels from either model and could only be told apart by reading the ID tags), I have found that the 72 model is more attractive to owners in several locations due to reduced taxes or emissions rules compared to the later 73-78 hardtops. This car was one I was putting together for some fun in my spare time. I wasn\'t really planning on selling it yet, however, I have limited workshop space and 3 other hardtops due in from panel shops within the next few weeks. I don\'t have time to finish this one before the other cars start arriving and I can\'t risk working in tight spaces with cars that have fresh paint. So this project has to go.THE FIRST THING YOU MUST KNOW! The shell has sustained damage due to a rear end accident. It is repairable and I had taken it to a couple of panel shops recently and both were happy to fix it (each had different plans on the best process). Regardless neither was able to fit it in for a couple of months and I just don\'t have the time or the space to store it, so it\'s going a lot cheaper than it would if I spent the time and money to repair it. I am INCLUDING in the sale the following parts to facilitate the repair of the car (note, not all of them are required, however, I\'d rather supply more than needed with the car and give the new owner the options to fix it how they prefer):Included is:
- Another complete floor pan from under the front seats right through to the rear bumper panel, inc sills (rocker panels) and wheel tubs (wheelhouse) (in good straight condition with minimal rust), this also has good boot (trunk) floor panels and several other sections that could be very handy.- NEW RH Sill (Rocker) panel- New RH/LH inner 1/4 panel lower (existing have minor rust and average previous repairs)
- New RH/LH inner 1/4 panel outer(existing have minor rust and average previous repairs)
- New RH/LH lower trunk seal corners (existing have been removed due to replacement of tail light beaver panel
- New RH/LH beaver to floor braces (existing will need to be removed for repair and they are only $30ea so easier to replace than to refit the old ones)I have approx 100 images on the car that I have uploaded to a website, link at the bottom of this description. Please check the link to evaluate the restoration work required to decide if the car is for them (personally I would say it\'s a moderate, but not easy job for a panel guy or a decent job for a hobby restorer, I fit the latter category and I would have taken it on if I had more time and space). The website also goes into more detail about what repairs are needed in order not to clutter the description here. I would prefer all interested buyers to contact me prior to buying. I do realize that anyone who has been looking into the value of these cars will see this is cheap and it will sell quickly, so I invite questions sooner than later in the hope that you don\'t miss out.
Ok now that the important negative point has been disclosed onto the rest of the car.
1972 XA Falcon Hardtop (Factory V8 body)Mostly complete car, partially converted to a Mad Max Interceptor replica.
Included with the car (though some items may not be pictured at this stage):
Complete steel body shell, with all factory steel panels, doors, guards (fenders), fluted bonnet, boot lid and wiper panel. There is some rust, however, it really is better than most projects available these days. I\'ve included most of the repair sections needed to fix both the damage and the rust, however, there will be some other sections needed (most will be easy enough to fab up sections and won\'t require bought patches).
Complete Mad Max Interceptor body kit, suitable for use for any of the 3 variations of the Interceptor, Mad Max, The Road Warrior or Fury Road (includes the nose cone, flares, roof wing and trunk/boot wing).Full set of Mad Max wheels, 15x8\" fronts and 15x10\" rears (The rims are NEW in boxes, not the second-hand rims show in the pics) All rims are from the same set, same style and same satin black powder coating, with chrome dome centre caps and chrome nuts. The car will come on another full set of wheels for transport (this will also be handy so you don\'t risk overspray on the good rims until the car is all finished and painted).
Fake Zoomie side pipes (As per those in the pics, but they will come in kit form so you can fit them as you wish, or even adapt them to be functional).(No blower included, sorry the one in the pics is a screen used Fury Road prop that I am keeping it, BUT I can offer a couple of options, inc preproduction Scott injector hat).XC rectangular headlights with mounting bucketsPerspex headlight coversThe car has a complete dash, with GS/GT style gauges and surround, dash pad, dash frame, glove box with door, heater vents, heater box, ducting, vent cables, hand brake mech, peddle box, blank floor shift steering column, indicator stalk, steering wheel, etc.Used black carpetAll interior door and rear side trim panelsBlack sports seatsBlack XB Rear seat (currently fitted with a sedan seat which is slightly taller in the base, however for an extra US$250 I will swap it out for a coupe seat base that I just got)All side glassRear window (I\'ll throw in a replacement seal as the one on the car is worn)Front windscreenAll window mechanisms (inc 2 new rebuild kits suitable for any of the 4 windows, for future use if ever needed)
Stainless roof gutter trims, front windscreen trim (top strip is 2 pc, as per the Fury Road car that I was going to replicate), C pillar corner trimsXB hardtop tail lightsFibreglass rear bumper (I\'ll throw in a steel sedan bumper that will have the required mounting hardware)Original engine bay and interior wiring harness (note this is as fitted to the car when last on the road, it may have some previous modifications and may require some repair or additional wires added, or it may work as is, I haven\'t checked it over).Fuel tank (currently has a standard tank fitted which is overall good but does have a couple of visible pin holes in the top surface, I\'m happy to provide instructions on how to convert this tank to a long range version whilst also fixing the couple of holes)All factory suspension, diff and brakes (note, assume these will require reconditioning, the vehicle is 45 years old and I do not know when some items were replaced, the brakes and suspension will in most part be fine but certainly some items will be simply wise to freshen up).Door catches, handles, and mechanisms (XA doors fitted, but I\'ll throw in some XB door sections in case you want to change them)V8 radiator, brake booster, V8 engine mounts (suit Cleveland or Windsor), bonnet hinges, wiper motor, and linkages. Plus no doubt other items that I haven\'t mentioned but I have here for the car or already fitted.Ratchet auto shifter (B&M or similar). I\'ll throw in a centre console as well.
So that\'s pretty much everything you need to make your very own Interceptor. Build it cheap in Fury Road spec or go to town and build a show winning Mad Max 1 replica, pretty much everything you need is there ready for you to get building. If you\'ve been looking at Interceptors over the last 12-18 months then you\'ll know 3 things about prices,
1)Complete Interceptors have been sold for over US$80k.2)One of my previous project cars was bought by a customer, who spent just over a week working on it (quick tidy up of the brakes, engine and electricals), and then sold it for over US$40k. That was in a very similar condition to this (less accident damage but a lot more rust). In fact, the guy that bought that of me has been considering buying this one as well when I mentioned to him last that I was going to sell it.3)Regular Falcon hardtops without any of the Mad Max gear generally sell between US$20-80k ($20k gets you a pretty rusty and incomplete car with no running gear) (some of the rarer models with the same bodyshell have sold for OVER US$300k!!)Q & A:The car is in Australia and I\'m in (The USA, Canada, U.K, Ireland, Germany, Belguim, Italy, Japan, etc), how would I get the car?No problem. I have shipped dozens of these all over the world. I can make all shipping arrangements and I will personally transport the vehicle and all additional parts to the shipping container and pack it securely. (If you have a friend that wants an Aussie car either a Falcon like this or something else I can pack two cars in a container and save you each on shipping costs.
How do I know you\'re not going to take my money and disappear?
Aside from being well known forbuilding the screen used Interceptors for Fury Road (along with a number of other vehicles for the movie), To my knowledge, I have put more Falcon hardtops into new homes than anyone else, anywhere. I\'ve owned 74 Falcon hardtops so far personally, having shipped dozens of those to new homes in the US, Canada, U.K, Scotland, Germany, Belguim, New Zealand over the past 15+ years (many much more expensive than this one). So you are not dealing with someone who hasn\'t done this before, you\'re not risking giving money to a one-off private seller halfway around the planet. I have sold body kits, wheels and other Mad Max parts to many other people across the globe. My Interceptor kit is by far the most commonly used worldwide (I also have more items coming soon).Any other questions please don\'t hesitate to ask.MORE INFO AND PICS HERE, COPY AND PASTE INTO YOUR WEB BROWSER:maxrep.my-free.website
