You are looking at a completely restored, numbers matching, fairly early 1971 240z. The complete restoration took over 2 years. The motor is the stock L24 block and E88 head. Both have been completely machined and professionally rebuilt using all ARP bolts and studs. The 5-speed transmission is from a later 280z and has also been completely rebuilt. Every single part on this car has been either re-furbished or replaced. Everything works save the clock. Everything. Just a touch over 300 miles since the build. The car starts, runs, stops, and drives as good or better than it (probably) did in 1971! The car simply drives wonderfully. No vibrations or pulling or hesitation or anything like that.
The recent paint is "medium spiral gray metallic", a color introduced on a 2001 Chevy C5 Corvette. There are 3 coats of color and 4 coats of clear. Any and all rust was cut out and good quality patch panels were welded into place. This is quality body and paint work.
The dash is a full cover and the custom door panels have been covered in leather. The seats have been completely renewed with new foam and vinyl covers.
The windshield is new, and the rest of the glass is stock in very good condition.
The car has been tastefully modded and could be brought back to stock without much trouble. Mods worth mentioning: I upgraded to a set of Weber 32/26 DGV carbs. The car came with the desirable "round top" SU carbs. They will be included with the sale of the car, but are in need of a rebuild. I will also include the stock air cleaner assembly. The car is minimally lowered on Eibach springs. It also has been upgraded to 4 wheel disks with functioning parking brakes. A 1" master cylinder and 280z brake booster. All new KYB shocks as well.
The steering rack is a refurbished unit for a 280z. The steering shaft has new u-joints. An upgraded front and rear sway bar has been added. All new bushing and wheel bearings and tie rods etc.
An electric fuel pump has been added in addition to the mechanical unit. It can run on either. Generally I use the electric to build pressure if the car has been sitting for a long while and then turn it off after it starts.
The flywheel is a lightened unit from a 280z 2+2. Meaning it is a larger diameter clutch disk. As mentioned, the transmission is a wide-ratio 5 speed, also from a 280z. The u-joints in the drive shaft have been replaced. And all seals and bearings in the rear half shafts were also replaced.Other mods include:
JDM tail-lights.Shaved wipers, key locks, and antenna mast.Aftermarket steering wheel (the stock one will be included with the sale). 16" pana-sport style wheels with RE760 tires. I do NOT have the stock wheels available.2.5" custom exhaust with Magnaflow muffler connected to a set of 6 into 1 Ceramic coated headers.Dual electric fansMesh headlight covers and after-market fender mirrors.Fiberglass hood and front and rear bumpers.

I was asked about paperwork. I have the original owners manual and warranty booklet. Inside the warranty booklet is the original owner and dealership signatures from May 71. I also have a factory service manual and a handful of registration/inspection receipts from the second owner. (I am the third. I've owned the car since December 2013). I also have receipts for the paint & body work and and machine shop.
