I bought this car 19 years ago from the legendary skateboarder , Natas Kaupas who rescued the car out of a junkyard and had it semi restored to a clean , daily driver. the motor was pulled and rebuilt by the guy who built the engine for the Grave digger monster truck. I\'ve kept the car in good running condition since i bought it. Please note...
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE CAR since the motor was rebuilt. The Odometer hasn\'t ever worked ... I put Moon gauges on the car shortly after i bought it... The only other things I\'ve changed from how the car came out of the factory to my knowledge , were the addition of new front power disc brakes and I pulled the power steering set up out of a 1969 coronet wagon I bought with the idea of building a Destruction Derby car... until I came to my senses and realized my neck was bad enough from my career as a tattooer. I pulled the whole power steering set up out and it was professionally installed . I don\'t know if you\'ve ever tried to parallel park a one ton Mopar with manual steering, but after years of owning the car, it seemed like a good idea. I also added the side scoops that were offered as an option on the car. But aren\'t original to this particular car\'s build sheet. The motor hasn\'t been rebuilt since i bought the car. But i really haven\'t put a lot of miles on it. I own a tattoo shop in a small town and really just drove the car around the area a bit. I have several other muscle cars and drive them all regularly. It makes me sad to let this one go. But it sits too much as I own a 1970 Dodge Super Bee which has always been my dream car and a few other cars I\'d like to put more energy into .
This car deserves to go to someone who really loves it and wants to bring it back to all it\'s former glory. It\'s got some surface rust in all the normal spots these old Mopar B bodies tend to get it in ... bottom of the rear windshield which i\'ve shown in the photos . This car IS NOT PERFECT . But it\'s a rare bird and was built in the L.A. manufacturing plant and is a great start for someone who wants to drive and enjoy something while they fix it up .
I had the car repainted about ten years ago and there\'s no major body rot ... There is a bit of bondo that\'s starting to crack in one of the front fenders . but nothing too major as far as I can tell. It\'s been stored outside and it\'s time for it to be taken down to metal and really gone through and done right . The only major rust issue is there is a decent sized hole in the trunk pan and if I end up keeping the car because I don\'t get a fair offer , It\'s definitely something I\'d deal with when I had it repainted . I do have the original factory 500 wheels it came with and I\'ll be taking the Cragar SS wheels and tires off of the car. I\'d be willing to talk about selling them with the car. but the CRAGARS AND TIRES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE unless an agreement is reached to buy them as well . the tires are fairly new but not in any way perfect . the same would be said about the Cragar SS wheels... Some surface rust and they\'re old so I have no idea if they\'re perfectly round . But they\'ve never vibrated on the freeway . I don\'t have the air grabber hood attachment that bolts up under the hood anymore. But you can buy restored ones or a new one on line. feel free to contact me with any questions. I am open to partial trade AND CASH , if someone has a 1971 Dodge Charger or a 1971 0r \'72 Dodge Demon . But please don\'t waste my time with low ball offers or junk trades. If you\'re a real Mopar person, you know as well as I do that finding a decent daily driver MATCHING NUMBERS R/T ( NOT \"numbers correct\"...because we all know there\'s a big difference no matter what all those fancy collector car barns tell you when they try to hustle people for way too much money for a shiney paint job ) that hasn\'t been gone through and made into some high dollar show car is like finding a needle in a haystack. I cant imagine there are more than 100 TRUE matching numbers R/T\'s left out there. and especially one like this that\'s just a solid driver and hasn\'t been completely restored to the point where someone is asking a ridiculous amount of money. I bought this car to drive it and enjoy it . Not hide it in a garage. So ,what you see is what you get. I\'m not desperate to sell this car . So please be respectful with your inquiries.
I\'ll do my best to answer any questions and tell you anything I can about the car that I may have left out .
PLEASE NOTE : Buyer is responsible for ALL SHIPPING COSTS OR PICK UP. Buyer is also responsible for ALL TAXES and FEES on top off the sale price .
A $5000 deposit is required within 24 hours of the sale. Good luck and Happy Bidding!!! THIS IS A GOOD ONE!! She beats Porsche\'s OFF THE LINE!!! Nothing made me happier than seeing the look on people\'s faces in the rear view mirror of this old beast !!
