vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this beautiful 1969 L46 Corvette Convertible in fantastic driver condition with a high performance ZZ4 crate engine from GM. This Corvette looks fantastic, runs great, and is an excellent driver. The ZZ4 engine is much more powerful than the stock engine and really adds to the performance of this Stingray. It is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Aztec Silver(986) over Gunmetal Gray Vinyl (416). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag. Gunmetal Gray is a very rare interior color, this is only the second Stingray we have every had with this interior.

We are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette model at an unbeatable value. The market on C3 \"chrome bumper\" Corvettes from 1968 to 1972 is absolutely red hot right now and on the rise; one could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and information below to get a true sense of how nice and clean this Corvette really is.

The previous owner of this Stingray is a jet engine mechanic who recently retired from American Airlines. We actually purchased two Corvettes from this gentleman in Nashville, TN. We purchased this 1969 Stingray Convertible along with a 1971 Stingray Coupe in Flame Orange over black and also with a crate engine. He was a true Corvette enthusiast with other Stingrays in his collection along with many other classic cars. This Corvette rolled off the assembly line on July 9, 1969 (L09).The previous owner, being an airline mechanic, was very meticulous and kept very detailed records on both of the Corvettes we bought. There are dozens and dozens of receipts, pictured below, for maintenance and restoration work competed on this car over the years. The receipts total over $5,600, which does not even include the cost of the ZZ4 crate engine or the paintjob. This Stingray has all the benefits of the better performance, reliability, durability, and speed from the ZZ4 GM crate engine.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

condition

Exterior

The Aztec Silver exterior is in good driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The chrome looks great overall. The rally wheels have a brilliant finish and the beauty rings are the correct and original 4-clip style, not the cheap foreign replacements. The Kelly Charger tires have about 90% tread left and are correctly sized 225/70R15. The soft top operates well. The rear window is perfectly clear and not yellow or cloudy. There are no major blemishes that have been excluded from the photos. There are some small imperfections around the car with some specific photos below and some that were too faint to show up in the photos, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. We would encourage any perspective buyer to view this car in person is possible. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car, it is very clean underneath. We have included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the \"key hole\" area in front of the rear tire, which is the most common spot for rust on a C3 Corvette.

Interior

The Gunmetal interior in this Stingray is in outstanding condition. The seats are in nice shape with no split seams, rips, or excessive wear. The carpet is also in fantastic condition with no holes, rips, or major stains. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The door panels are in terrific shape and the left panel is not worn in the typical spot where the driver\'s elbow sits. The door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console look awesome with no cracks or sun fading. The radio in the car sounds good and most importantly it is Corvette specific unit made just for this car so the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The car has a jack and the spare is still with the car. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes. Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well, and the excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in very good mechanical condition. As stated above there are over $5,600 in receipts that go with the car. As one would expect from a modern motor, the ZZ4 crate engine starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shift well, does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels good. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed. The radio works as do all the exterior lights, wipers, and indicators. The blower for the heater works on all speeds. The entire vacuum system for the headlights and wiper door works correctly from both their respective switches on the dash and the override switches. They go up quickly, evenly, and with no binding in the mechanism. The entire operation from both switches can be viewed in the video. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The horn does not work. Some of the fiber optics work. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the extra power from the ZZ4 and the top down on a beautiful day.

A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system. We consistently receive many questions about the purpose of this system; exactly what it is and what it does. The sole and main idea behind the fiber optic light monitoring system is to simply confirm that all of the exterior lights, headlights, indicators, tail lights, etc., are working and to make the driver aware of a a burned out bulb. Each lamp on the outside of the car has an actual fiber optic cable the runs to an indicator on the center console. There are nine small indicators on the console and each has its own finer optic cable. When the bulb goes on the light travels through the fiber optic cable and illuminates the corresponding indicator on the console. If someone does not remember to plug the cable end into the lamp housing, does any work to the center console, or if there is a break in a connection or anywhere along the cable, that indicator no longer works. As one can image, over time this is very common.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1969 Corvette is in great driver condition. The high performance ZZ4 crate engine definitely adds to the value of this car and preforms better than any other small block available from Chevrolet in 1969. This Stingray is a great value and we have it priced to sell. In my opinion and based on our experience the \"Chrome Bumper\" cars from 1968-1972 are the most collectible and hottest in the entire Corvette market right now. The speedometer works fine as one can see in the video, but the odometer does not work. There is a key for the ignition and no key for the doors. We can provide a door key for the new owner for an additional $200. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector. While this is not an NCRS Top Flight or Bloomington Gold car, it is a very nice driver quality Corvette and a great car for the money. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
