RESTORED 1967RAMBLER AMERICAN ROGUE CONVERTIBLE.

Purchasedfrom the original owner several years ago, this Rambler Rogue was an idealcandidate for restoration. Complete and original in all respects—never modified, well documented car with original sales receipt purchased in Maine. Vehicle hadbeen stored in climate-controlled garage for 25 years. Only 119,000 miles. Rustfree everywhere except lower rear quarter panels. Six-cylinder-232 cubic inch, ‘Flash-o-matic’ auto transmission. Powertop is the only power assist. Deluxe trim package including bumperettes. AMradio.

Exterior

The Ramblerwas disassembled, stripped to bare metal with either chemical and/or mediablasting including inner fender wheels, engine compartment, firewall, doors, trunk and undercarriage. All factory panel deformation was corrected. New lower rear quarter panels replaced theonly rust on the car. The new quarters were hand made by a metal fabricationartist and include the outer and inner pieces as factory original. See picturesfor details. Refinished with base coat clear coat in factory correct Aqua Blue.Forty hours of hand sanding and polish after painting. Bumpers and other chromewere all replated or replaced. Stainless steel trim was polished.

Finishunder the hood is just has good as the exterior, all components removed fromfirewall and inner fenders to facilitate proper refinishing.

Newcomponents on the exterior include all door seals, window fuzzies, trim, allhardware and emblems. Convertible top is new, now black in color, worksperfectly. Original convertible top boot and new boot still in box.

Interior

Extraordinaryoriginal condition for all the interior. Dashpad is perfect. Seats and doorpanels are excellent. One small quarter inch imperfection on the side of thedriver’s seat that has been repaired—too small to photograph. New carpetinstalled. Instrument cluster was refinished. Dash lights upgraded to LEDbulbs. All interior lights functional and door switches replaced. Working original AM radio.

Trunk finishedto factory new.

Mechanical

  • All new brakes including brake lines, rebuiltmaster, wheel cylinders, shoes, drums, e-brake cables.
  • New fuel lines, in tank sending unit and fuelpump. Gas tank refurbished.
  • New carburetor, alternator, battery, and waterpump.
  • All electricals refurbished including newvoltage regulator and Halogen headlights
  • New ignition components.
  • New shocks.
  • Rebuilt radiator.
  • All new hoses and clamps.
  • New alloy rims with Goodrich TAs (onlynon-stock items on car) original rims and hubcaps included.
  • · There are afew things to mention. Some plastic seat trim needs to be painted and installed (allpieces are complete and repaired as required). These were previously refinishedusing a ‘chrome’ paint which was not very durable. A piece of rubber moldingabout 1.5 inches long at the front of the convertible top could use attention.Since my use of the vehicle is 95% with the top down, this is not an issue forme. The turn signal switch is intact but does not always return to the correctneutral position, but the signals cancel just fine. This is a very small paint chip in thedriver’s door—noticeable only at certain angles. The temperature gauge worksbut does not get to the middle position. Apparently this is a typical fault withthese cars.

Numerousspare parts included. Original owner’s manual, original bill of sale andservice manual included.

This Roguelooks and drives great. An excellent example of an unmolested 60’s convertible.Plenty of power for the thruway, yet nimble to drive around town. Great summercruiser.

    Importing to the US

This Rambler Rogue is presently registered in Niagara FallsOntario Canada. Due to the age of the vehicle, it is exempt from normal USvehicle importation requirements. A couple of years ago, I sold a vintage truck to US citizens. At that time there are no fees associated with importation,(vehicle was originally manufactured and sold in the US). Buyers require Form7501 and EPA and DOT exemption forms which are available at the border andcompleted at the time of entry. Vehicle can be picked up in Canada. There are many websites that provide instructions. Here is one:

Also, this link from US Border and Protection Services provides details and links to the required forms:

If you are contacting US customs directly make sure your advise them the the vehicle is 50+ years old, was originally manufactured and sold in the US and that it is a private sale (not a commercial dealer transaction). Seller will assist with transportation forbuyer as required. Numerous vehicle transporters are available that pickup inCanada and deliver in the US. All bids in $US.

Many more pictures available of restoration. No reserve. Winning bidder $500 Paypal deposit, bank wire transfer for balance. The auction could end at anytime as the vehicle is available locally.
