Here is your chance to own a true piece of Ford MuscleCar history. A professionally built 427SOHC “Cammer” motor stuffed in a 1965 Mercury Comet for the street!!
This car was built by a well-known SOHC expert inCalifornia, Butch Engelbrecht (of B&E Motorsports) in 1998. Several years after the build, his customersold the car to Wayne Jeffer in Florida, who had it in a museum for displaypurposes and then sold it in 2012 to the current owner.
In 2017 the current owner decided to go through theentire car and have everything checked and the engine rebuilt. Why? You may ask. Because his is a stickler on detail and likesto keep his cars in near perfect condition.This Mercury Comet is as close to being perfect as you can see in thephotos and video.
The 427 SOHC is actually bored and stroked to 456cu.in. by use of a 428 crankshaft. Stockhorsepower was 657. The engine has neverbeen dyno’d. The block and heads are date coded to 1966, not a reproduction 427SOHC side oiler. The engine has lessthan 50 miles on it since being completed and many of the internal parts arenew. The specifications are listedbelow.
The owner has the receipts for the original enginebuild; the most recent rebuild; and any & all work performed since he hasowned the car.
