Up forauction is our 64 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback. This car was sold new in KansasCity, at Midway Ford and was only in service for several years before it wasparked inside the original owners garage, where it sat for many years. Whenthis time capsule was discovered the odometer reading was only 21,000 miles.
The car wasbrought to Colorado where it underwent a full mechanical check; the engine wasflushed with all new fluids and filters, resealed, all new ignition tune-upitems, the carburetor was gone through, all new hoses and clamps, radiator wasboiled out and filled with new coolant, new fuel pump and water pump. The fuelsystem was completely flushed and all rubber lines replaced. The brake systemwas also completely flushed and a new master cylinder was installed. New batteryand cables were installed, but all of the original hoses, belts and mastercylinder were saved and are included with the car. I will say this car runs anddrives like an absolute dream. The engine is tight and super smooth with nosmoke or odd noises. The three speed transmission is also quiet and smooth(1964 was the first year Ford synchro mesh first gear) along with the clutch.The brakes work perfectly as expected. As you drive the car it has a very solidand quiet feel. Going over rail road tracks its SOLID with absolutely norattles. We have put 500 miles on the car and its very reliable and fun!
The exteriorof this car is stunning. The paint is beautiful and in super condition. Thebrightwork is all original and super nice. All original glass that is pit freeand nearly flawless. Inside the trunk is all original and perfect (not a singlerust spot). The spare is a very old bias ply whitewall tire with all theoriginal jack hardware. Included with the car is also a pair of original fenderskirts. The wheels are also all original and have nice bias ply white walltires with amazing condition wire hubcaps.
The interiorof this car is amazing. The headliner, seats and door panels are original andlook perfect. The carpet is all original and super nice. It has always hadrubber floor mats that have kept the carpet like new. The dash in this carshows almost no wear, the dash is perfect, all the gauges are crisp and clean,the controls and switches are all working and feel like new. Everything on andinside this car works perfect; lights, horn, wipers, turn signals, hi-low beam,speedo, gauge function, etc .. Inside the glove compartment is all of itsoriginal owners manuals, warranty booklet, some old service pamphlets, originalkeys, When I say this car is a time Capsule, I mean it. When sitting in the carand the AM radio comes on with some oldies, it feels like your living in ‘64all over again. The undercarriage is clean and rust free. The frame andsuspension have many of its original paint marking and the floors are still redoxide with only the factory undercoating. If you are looking for a SURVIVORGalaxie that is fun to drive and looks great in your garage then this is thecar for you. If this was a Big Block car it would be at least A $50,000 dollar car. This car is affordable and a soundinvestment.
