1963 Chevrolet Chevy 2, Nova wagon. Resto-mod built 20 years ago. Original VA. car that then went to FL. and then to Alaska, finally ending up here in Maine. Built by an engineer in the U.S. Air Force, was a high quality build in it\'s day. Features a 377\" stroker with Custom pistons, Dart heads, Hooker aluminized non-fenderwell headers, Holley Projection fuel injection system, Mallory dist, MSD ingnition, Built Tubo 350 trans, Camaro 10 bolt rear, custom traction bars, frame connectors, programmableengine management system, front disc brake conversion w/power brakes, etc.... Have a stack of paperwork detailing the parts and the build.
Car is very solid but does have some rust as seen in the pics. Small hole in the drivers floor turned into a mess after previous owner fiberglassed over it. I removed the fiberglass and patch and cut all rusted metal away exposing solid frame rails and supports. A front floor pan for the drivers side is included, I have trimmed it to fit and painted it on both side with rust inhibitor paint, final installation will be up to next owner. Also I cut out existing rust in the front fenders and door as shown, areas have been primed. Rear quarters have some filler in the lower portions. Seats are tired but there, front seat has been reupholstered years ago in vinyl, rear seat had a Mexican blanket attached, since been removed, seat needs to be done. dash is good, head liner is present but old, rear window does not work and I have made no attempt to open it.
After coming to Maine the car spent years in a barn and then unfortunately outside next to the barn for several years and the surface rust (patina) is a result. It hadn\'t run or drivenin many years.
To bring it back to life I replaced the fuel tank and sender plus fuel pump and lines. I pulled the Holley Projection and replaced it with an Edlebrock Performer RPM intake and carb just to make it run and evaluate the car. The current carb only makes it run, it does not have the correct bracket for the kick down cable but the Holley Projectioncomes with the car. I also replaced the calipers, hoses, wheel cylinders and master. Brakes work well enough the transport but I wasn\'t able to get pressure to the rear? Engine looked like new inside with the valve covers and intake off. Replaced the starter but it needs to be shimmed to be right, sounds bad but starts. Engine is quiet and smooth, good oil pressure, very little smoke. Trans pan leaks but trans does engage, never went fast enough around my property to see how it shifts. Replaced the tires with an old set of tires I had on another project, they are pretty old.
I originally bought the car for a Nostalgia Drag project but plans have changed and college tuition is coming up so I instead, I cleaned the car up, got it running, driving and stopping and will pass it on to the next owner. I have many more pics and a video of the car running for those who are interested. I will gladly answer any questions through email or call/text me directly 617-538-7970 Mark.
