My 1962 Corvair Monza 900Convertible is looking for a new home.

3 Speed Manual, 102hp \"Crossed Flags\" emblem** aka thenormally-aspirated High Performance motor. I\'veowned this amazing rust-free car for 15 years. I brought ithome from Colorado in 2003. Garaged-stored always - including15 yrs in my A/C\'d garage. Since I\'ve owned, it\'s never spentthe night outside. I\'ve driven it approx 4000 miles during that time; now @102,400 miles. It\'s a true survivor, with its original engine/drive train, neither of which has ever been removed.A groovy dream to drive. As you\'ll see in the fotos here (links below to 70 morefotos and video), it\'s a uniquely beautiful car. I have all receipts since I purchased the car.

** Trivia ** The \'crossed flags\' emblem is actually a cross-sectional view of the engine block and cylinder heads.

QuickFacts by Category:Paint: Very well-prepped older repaint.Contains various imperfections, including touched-up scratches / chips from over theyears. Largest is a touched up quarter-sized chip on the engine lidedge (see picture). But, it still gets tons of attention at the shows and on the road, as the paint shines very nicely.Body/Floor, etc: Rust-Free (see undercarriage pictures).Fortunately, a Colorado car, nicely rust-proofed back in the day. Engine compartment also rust-free, includingbattery box.Brakes - Rebuilt wheel cylinders, replaced brakehoses, shoes, converted to dual-chamber mastercylinder.Chassis - Replaced F & R shocks.Engine/DriveTrain: Small Leak at main seal. Noticeable when car is notrun regularly. I\'ve used the same piece of cardboard for 10years - still intact. Minimal effect on oil level, certainlynot enough to consider removal/rebuild, etc. Pushrod tube seals wereViton-replaced 7 yrs ago. Replaced muffler. Transmission shifts perfectly.Replaced Gear Oil with Amsol API/GL4 lubricant. Also, when tunnel was opened for inspection, shifter linkages werecleaned/lubricated and transmission input shaft seal replaced. . Replaced U-joints / rear wheel bearings - both recommendedon the \'60-\'62 cars. Electrical /Lighting - All systems/circuits etc). Rebuilt Generator, replaced V/R (original AC Delco V/R included), Petronix electronicignition. Battery is approx 4 yrs old. Replaced Starter. Original radio in excellent condition. Remember the \"civil defense markers\" on the dial? Upgraded to dual-style speaker.Replaced all light lenses, including parking/front turn lenses.Upgraded yellow hi-beams. All interior and exterior lamps function perfectly. Added headlight warning chime circuit (best projectever). Interior & instrument lamps replaced with LED.As a Monza 900, the car is equipped with a two-speed wiper/washer and cigarette lighter. Instrument panel is original / virtually perfect, with the addition of a well-placedTach - very handy to have, but most importantly... it looks cool:-)Fuel - Replaced fuel tank, rebuilt carburetors, replacedfuel pump, added primary stage fuel filter.Glass - Replacedwindshield and Seal. Original windows are perfect and clear (see picture).Interior - Mostly original.Replaced carpet, front seats partially reupholstered. Replacedkick panels. Original front door panels, visors, rear seat, rear armrests, and all cranks/handles. Convertible top replacedapprox 20 yrs ago. In VG condition due to indoor storage and LOTS of Armor All! - notears. Convertible top tape repair along new binding (seepicture). Replaced binding and end caps. Rear Window is suppleand approx 90% transparent (see picture). When top replaced,in an attempt to keep as original as possible, owner left the original very worn side pads in place (see picture) - Although only visible from inside, still an odd decision, so theyremain until the new owner is ready to replace current top down the road. Allbows and hardware in exc. condition. Period seat/lap belts inExc. Condition. Why a picture of the shift knob? Original3-speed pattern knobs (and repros) are virtually -- impossible -- to find.I actually caught one unfortunate soul trying to steal mineat a car show (He likely won\'t try again...). Included is a shift knob madefrom a #11 billiard ball (red/white). I use it when the car ispublicly parked. Wheels/Tires - Original 2-prong spinner wirewheel covers in VG condition. Whitewall tires in Exc.condition. Spare is also VG, but, not a match with the 4installed tires.Trim - Bumpers and optional bumper guards VG- Exc. All trim and emblems are VG-excellent. Originalrocker panel covers and door sill plates in VG condition.Headlight bezels are VG - Exc. Very rare NOS stainless headlight StoneGuards look GREAT over thedual-colored headlights. Replaced all rubber - door weather seals, trunk, engine lid, and engine compartment rubber heat seals. Originalrear grill is Good. NOS, they\'re super-rare andexpensive.. used for 1962 only. Most folks replace these withthe 1964 style... readily available. I\'m a\'semi-purist\', so I kept the original grill!

The car will include lots of extra goodies and accessories - OEM hubcaps, lenses, bulbs, fuses, complete shop manual set, bezels, factory keys, etc. Plus... the all-important #11 billiard ball!
