1957 Chrysler Imperial Crown Sedan with Original 392 Hemi True Survivor Car Debut Year for the 392 This 1957 Imperial was originally sold, and spent most of her life, in California. The car has only been in Texas for a few years and has always been garage stored. I crank her weekly, drive her a couple times a month and the brakes bring this big body to a stop nicely. The car has little to no rust, original \"gunsight\" taillights, original wheels and new tires that are in good shape. She has the matching spare tire along with both bumper jacks. I also have the original owners manual and sales floor visor advertisement, along with original, under the dash, Kleenex holder. All the gauges, power windows, and power seats work well. This car is Classic Elegance at its finest. Which is why Chrysler has planned to bring back the Imperial Luxury Sedan this year. Call or text if you have any additional questions or want to make an offer. Nine 0 three - 9 one 8 - 0 seven 8 five. Delivery options available, ask me for details. Some history:
1957 was the first year of the 392 Hemi, as well as a complete redesign of The Imperial line of vehicles. Famed car designer, Virgil Exner, was brought on board at Chrysler to head up the design of the \'57 Imperials.
The 1957 model year was based to an even greater degree on Virgil Exner\'s \"Forward Look\" styling It featured a complicated front end (similar to Cadillacs of the period) with a bulleted grille and quad headlights, tall tailfins, and Imperial\'s trademark gunsight taillights. For the first time on an American car curved side glass was used. The Hemi engine was available for the first two years that was enlarged to 392cuin (6.4L). Power seats and dual exhaust were made standard across the line. Sales were helped by Exner\'s \"ahead of the competition\" styling, with 1957 becoming the best-selling Imperial model year ever.
