We are selling a fine example of a 1956 Ford Sunliner. My Dad is the owner and he has developed Alzheimer\'s so he is unable to drive anymore.
This car was built as a driver, along with a few mods that a young man in 1956 would want to do.
The car has a column shifter that operates a three speed and this car has an overdrive fourth gear.
The engine was build by Powered By Ford in Orlando Fl more than 10 years ago. There is not a lot of miles on that complete rebuild of the engine. We are estimating between 6-8 thousand miles. The car has spent most of its time with us parked. According to Dad, the Y-Block was built as large as possible, but he does not remember the final displacement. It is at least a 312ci. Dad simply had too many projects so he did not drive this much.
This car is not perfect, but it is a great example of a driver. This thing cruises really well. It starts right up and idles well after some time on the choke. The carbs need some adjustment because the mixture is a bit rich.
It has air conditioning but I neglected to check if it works. The pulley does not have enough wrap so the belt does squeak some when the compressor is engaged.
The hood latch needs adjustment at best, replacement at worst.
The top is in good shape. Interior is really nice.
There are small rust bubbles at the bottom of both doors. The front fenders both need adjustment where they meet the doors. There is some contact between them.
Every issue the car has is easily solved by a person with some skills.
