One family owned, has been sitting in a barn for many years. 265 v8, power glide transmission, very RARE generator assisted power steering, drivetrain complete. I got the motor to start with a battery and a bottle of gas. Do not know if the transmission works as I did not run the motor very long. Do not know the miles as there is no dash cluster. This is a rust free California car and what you see in the photos is exactly what you get along with a clear title. I could not find a VIN tag but the family assured me it is the original drivetrain. All of the tires hold air and it rolls freely for shipping. The car was bought brand new by the husband for his wife and when she passed away it sat in a barn. The son was a special needs young man and also a Nascar nut. Over a period of time the son decided he wanted to make this a Nascar so he spent many days gutting the car by hand to make it lighter and faster. When this was discovered the car was transferred to the grandson in 2008. This is a really nice bodied car with a little bondo on the right rear quarter panel from a dent not rust. There is no rust on the car except the usual normal surface rust on the bottom side (see photos) NO RUST on the floors, trunk, eyebrows or quarters where the usually rust. . This would make a great race car from this point or if you have a parts car you could easily restore this one. The doors have been completely gutted and will need to be replaced along with the trunk lid. The rear window and back seat areas have been gutted but can be welded in fairly easily. There is a dash but will need welded as well (no gauges) or any interior at all. What chrome you see in the photos is the only chrome on the car. Has front and rear windows only. No side glass!! I have some additional photos upon request. The car is for sale locally so I reserved the right to end the auction at any time. I will need a $500.00 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of the ending of the the auction. Payment in full within 72 hours of the auction ending and bank draft or cash only. I can store the car for a few days and can assist your shipper with loading. On Nov-08-17 at 15:09:32 PST, seller added the following information: The vin tag was destroyed or lost but I have a clear title that matches the license plates and is titled as a 1955 Chevrolet. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT PLAN TO BUY. THE LAST TOP BIDDER SAID HE DIDNT BID ON MY CAR ALTHOUGH HE BID TWICE. THIS IS A LEGITIMATE CAR. THE 55 IS SOLD AS IS NO WARRANTY!!!!!!!!!
