Here is what I know about the Packard…

Engine:

  • Rebuilt starter, distributor and fuelpump (2014)

  • New plugs (2014)

  • New battery and cable to starter (2014)

  • New ignition switch (2014)

  • New choke spring and cover (2014)

  • New headlights (2014)

  • Rebuilt Brake Booster / Master Cylinder(2017)

Issues: There is a noticeableexhaust manifold leak that needs repaired. This causes a slight ticking soundwhile it’s idling. The engine runs strong and doesn’t seem to have any blow-byor smoke when it is running. The heater blower motor is not installed rightnow, but I have it. It’s missing the flexible duct work under the hood for theheater and fresh air. I noticed the car does leak trans fluid and needs a newpan gasket. The car shifts into High and Reverse just fine. The Low selectionis not working right now. I’m not sure if it’s because the fluid is low or not.I’ve only driven the car around my neighborhood to test the brakes. I do havean extra radiator and carburetor for the car.

Body:

Thequarter panels have been repaired in the past using filler. If you were toreach up under the rockers, you could feel wear they are rusted and needreplaced / patched. You couldn’t really make it out in the pictures, but therear window corners have been repaired in the past as well. There are smallamounts of filler in other places, but those are the major areas. The trunk lidhas fish eyes in the paint job that you can’t really make out. You can seewhere the filler webbed over time. The car seems to have an older restorationand its starting to show. The underside of the car needs to be scraped andundercoated.

Ibought the car as a driver / future project. I was going to refurbish the carmechanically to drive for a while and then complete a full restoration. For notbeing restored, this car looks good and gets a lot of attention. I’m sellingthe car because my wife and I just moved in a new home and I don’t have time torestore it. It’s been stored in my garage since 2014. I’ve described everythingI know about the vehicle to the best of my knowledge. The vehicle is being sold“as is” with no implied warranties or guarantees. I’m saying this because thevehicle is 64 years old and I will not be held responsible for any unforeseenissues with the car. If you should have any questions or need additional photosof the car, feel free to contact me. This is a great looking car and anexcellent candidate for restoration. Happy Bidding!!
