We recently purchased this Super 88 from the previous 80+ year old, retired local Idaho owner and as you can tell in the pictures and video it has been his pride and joy !! 1953 was the LAST and BEST year of the first generation Super 88 !! This Super 88 still retains it's correctly mounted - FACTORY ORIGINAL - driver's door pillar mounted Oldsmobile VIN tag - FACTORY ORIGINAL - firewall mounted Oldsmobile data plate and the - FACTORY ORIGINAL - trunk lid mounted jacking instruction sticker, all of which are shown in several photos below. This is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - Idaho High Mountain Desert - Western car and it shows !! I drove this Super 88 as my daily driver for the last several days and it runs and drives VERY WELL !! It is a sweet driver in town and cruises down the freeway easily and smoothly. If you can make it to Boise in the next ten days, please come take a look at and drive this BEAUTY for yourself. This is a QUALITY CLASSIC SUPER 88 THAT IS READY TO DRIVE, SHOW AND ENJOY !!
At the heart of this Super 88 is what appears to be the VERY STRONG !! - REBUILT !! - FACTORY ORIGINAL !! - 303 CID "Rocket" V8 motor that is running VERY well. The motor also sports the ORIGINAL intake manifold, ORIGINAL exhaust manifolds, ORIGINAL "Oldsmobile Rocket" scripted valve covers, ORIGINAL Style carburetor and the ORIGINAL air cleaner housing !! Sounds GREAT too with the factory style exhaust system. The engine is backed by a SMOOTH !! - Four speed - "Hydra-Matic" - automatic transmission which also functions very well. The BEAUTIFUL !! Jade Green Cloth Super 88 interior is in VERY NICE condition with a NICE Jade Green Cloth front bench seat, VERY NICE NEW Jade Green carpeting, NICE Matching Jade Green Cloth and Vinyl door panels, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Factory gauge clusters, NICE ORIGINAL Oldsmobile steering wheel, NICE Light Green Cloth headliner, NICE Light Green Cloth sun visors, NICE Jade Green Cloth rear seat and a VERY NICE Jade Green Vinyl dash pad with NO CRACKS !! All of the black rubber weatherstripping is soft, supple and in GREAT condition. The GORGEOUS !! - Two Tone - Code "61" - Lotus Cream and Emerald Green exterior finish is EYE POPPING BEAUTIFUL !! - showing several small chips and imperfections that have been touched up but still looks GREAT !! as you can clearly see in the LENGTHY VIDEO & 100+ ADDITIONAL PICTURES below this description !! This Super 88 comes nicely equipped including factory power brakes, factory power wipers, front seat belts, factory front wing windows, good heater and defroster, original Deluxe AM radio, original clock which is no longer working, factory gauge clusters with 120 MPH speedometer, original rear view mirror, original chrome driver's side view mirror, passenger side view mirror, aftermarket Polar electric rear seat swamp cooler, factory fender skirts and factory back-up lights. This Super 88 has GORGEOUS looks and AWESOME "Rocket" 303 CID V8 power as well, what's not to LOVE !! There are not many of these left on the roads for sure !! The suspension and drive line seem to be in good working order as well as the electrical system. Check out the AWESOME - FACTORY ORIGINAL - Oldsmobile stainless steel wheel covers and BRAND NEW whitewall steel belted radial tires, they look OUTSTANDING on this Super 88 and really help to retain that CLEAN "Factory Original" - look !! All of the ORIGINAL Chrome and Stainless Steel exterior body trim and moldings are in VERY NICE condition including VERY NICE ORIGINAL Chrome front and rear bumpers, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Chrome rear bumper guards, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Badging, NICE ORIGINAL Chrome "Jet" hood ornament and a VERY NICE ORIGINAL Chrome and Stainless Steel grill and headlight surrounds. The CLEAN - SOLID - trunk also sports a NICE Brown cloth liner and a full size radial spare tire. All of the ORIGINAL light lenses and reflectors are also clear, bright and BEAUTIFUL !! I looked underneath and also included photos below, again this is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - Idaho High Mountain Desert - western vehicle and it shows !!
